Before submitting an application, please read the following very carefully.
The Trust invites applications which meet its eligibility requirements. Make sure that your organization and project are eligible for funding and check whether your request matches our current funding priorities.

These will change from time to time. The Trust will only make awards which fall outside these guidelines in exceptional circumstances.

The Trustees will approve grants representing up to 20% of overall annual running costs. Grants can be made towards both revenue and capital costs.

The Trust expects that principal awards will be in the order of BZ$10,000 to BZ$250,000, with a minimum grant period of one year and a maximum of three years. The Trustees anticipate that the evaluation of applications for principal awards will take between 3 and 6 months before an applicant is notified of a decision. Adequate time should be allowed when making applications.

Subsidiary awards of up to BZ$10,000 are also available for smaller organisations. Applications should be made in the same way as for the principal grants program. However, if successful, your subsidiary grants may be awarded in as little as 2 to 3 months.

Applications can only be accepted from not-for-profit organizations.

Areas of Interest
The Trust is particularly interested in applications in the following areas:

• Improving Prospects: Projects providing meaningful occupation for young people to improve their employability and diminish the risk of social exclusion, and developing support activities for youths in order to reduce opportunities for misuse of time.
  
  
• Repairing Communities: Projects led from within the community with the aim of integrating different social and ethnic groups in pursuit of worthwhile goals.
  
  
• Repairing Lives: Projects making a lasting impact on the lives of people with substance misuse problems, and projects helping people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
  
  
• Preserving Heritage: Conserving or restoring buildings and landscapes which are of national value and accessible to the public, and developing conservation skills, especially among disadvantaged
  groups.
  
  
• Sustaining the Arts: Nurturing and developing artistic endeavour.

The Trust favours projects with long-term focus, and supports organizations with a clear commitment to equal opportunities. Grants will be made to charities which do not discriminate on the grounds of age, gender, disability, marital status, sexual orientation, religion, race or colour.
